This policy explains how KH7AL, a personal amateur-radio website operated by Allen Le Vie in Helena, Montana, handles information when you visit kh7al.site, use the published radio-log search, or contact me. The site is based in the United States and is intended for a general audience.

Information you provide

Email. Contact links on this site open your email application. The site does not collect the contents of those messages through a web form. Information reaches me only if you choose to send an email. Please do not send sensitive personal information by ordinary email.

Radio-log searches. When you enter a callsign in the Wake Island log checker, the search runs locally in your browser against a published Logbook of The World export. The callsign you type is not submitted to a KH7AL application server or saved by the search feature. Callsigns and associated QSO details in the published log are amateur-radio contact records and are publicly searchable on this site.

Information collected automatically

Vercel hosts and delivers this site. Like other hosting and security providers, Vercel may process technical request information such as your IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or device information, referrer, and data used to operate, secure, diagnose, and deliver the site.

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits in aggregate. It may record information such as the page path, referrer, filtered query parameters, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel states that Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not store IP addresses with analytics events. The site also uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure page-load performance and related technical metrics.

Cookies and similar technologies

KH7AL does not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, cross-site tracking, or a consent-management cookie. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless, and the site does not intentionally store identifiers in your browser for advertising or personalization. Because the site is U.S.-focused and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking, it does not currently display a cookie-consent banner.

Emails and privacy requests are kept only as long as they remain useful for the conversation, site operations, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Vercel retains service data according to its own settings and policies. The public amateur-radio log may remain available as a historical record of contacts.

Security

I use reasonable measures appropriate for a personal website and rely on established providers to host and deliver it. No website, email system, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you provided, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing info@kh7al.site. I may need to verify a request and may retain information where permitted or required for security, recordkeeping, or legal purposes. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional privacy rights.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly ask children under 13 to submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me so I can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

KH7AL is based in the United States. If you visit from another country, information handled by KH7AL or its service providers may be processed in the United States or another country where those providers operate. Privacy rules in those countries may differ from those where you live.
